Prime Time Family Reading,Chautauqua, and Reader Survey
To support Prime Time Family Reading programs held in libraries for at-risk youth and their parents; the development of a new Chautauqua program focused on the life and times of Abraham Lincoln, together with new Chautauqua programs for schools; and Kentucky Humanities magazine, a twice-yearly publication focusing on Kentucky history and culture.
Kentucky Humanities Council requests $46,000 for Prime Time Family Reading Time which is based on discussion of themes in the humanities; $44,700 to develop new Chautauqua for the Lincoln Bicentennial and to provide Chautauqua to schools state wide; and $5,000 to conduct a readership survey of Kentucky Humanities magazine to determine if it is an effective humanities program focusing on history and culture that we should expand.
