To support the annual weeklong Soul of the City, a program for young people; television programming on topics related to the City's history and development; a reading and discussion series called Who is a Washingtonian?; community-based discussions; the DC Community Heritage Preservation Project; and development of the Humanities Council's Research Center of online resources. HCWDC’s We the People programming includes THE SOUL OF THE CITY youth summer leadership institute; HUMANITIES PROFILED TV series; WHO IS A WASHINGTONIAN? A civic reflection text-based discussion series; CONVERSATIONS ON GREAT STREETS WITH DC LEADERS; COMMUNITY HERITAGE PRESERVATION PROJECTS with lectures and workshops for community historians to build their skills; and the update and expansion of the HCWDC RESOURCE CENTER archive and online database.
