FOOD for Thought, for Life: The Aesthetics, Ethics, and Politics of Food

Funding will support a wide range of activities related to issues concerning food, its production, transportation, and cultural and ethnic influences, including grants for local projects, traveling exhibits, a website, and an electronic newsletter. Funding will also support the Mississippi Oral History Program and an annual teachers award.

This We the People project will provide a range of programs related to issues concerning food, its production, transportation, cultural and ethnic influences on what and how we eat, issues related to health and nutrition, and topics related to ethics, world hunger, obesity, and other issues. Diverse partners are cooperating in this project to bring programming to persons of all ages and interests, with small awards to support local programming, packaged programs, and a major conference. Also, a website, electronic newsletter, and other venues to educate the public and publicize food projects and public discussion of food issues supported by the MHC and its partners will be developed and expanded.
