Endowment for new Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Library
Endowment for the Head Librarian, a reference librarian, acquisitions, equipment, furnishings, and a professional development and travel fund.
VMFA seeks $800,000 to be matched 4:1 for a total of $4MM to provide endowment for a new art research Library to be located in the Museum's new wing scheduled to open in 2007-08. The new Library will offer extensive humanities holdings including 132,500 volumes. Endowment will support the Head Librarian and one Librarian position, acquisitions, preservation equipment and materials, furnishings, and a professional development and travel fund. The Library is central to the Museum's commitment to provide a humanities framework for interpreting all of its collections, exhibitions, publications, and educational programs.
