Literatures and History Program
To expand the small Literature and History program to develop further the interdisciplinary study of Western and "third world" literature and history. New, seminar-format courses will be developed, involving a dialogue between literary critic and historian on central literary and intellectual texts as well as group discussion. A central course in the theory of literature will be developed. A new position in Hebrew language and literature will be created, as well as a small M.A. program.
