Institute on the Teaching of Afro-American Music

A project for the dissemination of information about the Black man in American music, stressing research, organization and offering of a college course, and public dissemination of the results. The Institute would present to participants representing a varied cross-section of the public demonstrations of the Black man's contributions. This would include information on teaching and would be concurrent with the publication of a series of brochures on black music and black musicians, and a 16mm film.
