PH.D. IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE, LITERATURE, AND PEDAGOGY
To improve the teaching of English in high schools and colleges with a doctoral program in English language, literature and pedagogy which will integrate literary scholarship and practical pedagogy and provide skills in teaching and substantial teaching experience before the degree is awarded. An NEH Planning Grant began the process. The program grant will be used to strengthen and expand the degree, revise and add courses and increase enrollment. Faculty from other university departments and from the School of Education will support the program.
