ABSTRACT: Project LAMP-a creative learning project involving classes in humanities. Intensified learning plan centered around "The Study of Man and His Continuing Search for Meaning in His Personal and Social World." Relies heavily on library resources for independent and guided research. As a result, necessary to improve library facilities. Students at Jackson State College, for most part, unexposed to basic facets of art, literature, music or philosophy when they enter. With conventional classes, this intellectual gap is rarely bridge. Students tend to look upon humanities with apathy and frequently with contempt. Project LAMP designed to give students access to books, music, library resources and good recordings; motivate them to explore the world of creativity beyond the range of class assignments and to consider the library as a cultural leaning environment. Funds for salaries (librarian, student workers, consultants).
