ARTIFACTS OF MAN

To initiate a team-taught, interdisciplinary foundation course in humanities. Each five-week segment will focus on the intensive study of a single cultural artifact or small group of artifacts and will have its own teaching team of 3 or 4 instructors chosen from the departments of English Music, theater, or art. The aim of the course is to provide an integrative experience in the humanistic disciplines, by introducing the methodologies and critical vocabularies of these disciplines through study of the selected artifacts, at a college where there are presently no interdisciplinary humanities courses.
