Interdisciplinary Instruction System for the Teaching of General Educational Courses
To develop the means by which the disciplines within the arts, social sciences and humanities at this institution would be brought together, or interwoven, into a common vehicle. For many years the above instructional areas have been taught as separate entities and thought of as compartments of knowledge; students have selected from many, many traditional 3-unit courses to satisfy a "general education" requirement. There has been no thought as to the cohesiveness of the separate courses and how they might be taught as a whole.
