Intergrating Comprehension Skills in Foreign Language Learn-ing
To introduce a 1st year course of foreign language instruction in 4 high schools and to develop an existing 1st year experimental program at the college level to replace the 4-skills foreign language learning approach with a listening/reading emphasis approach. Project will focus on content and meaning of language, exclusion of grammar details peripheral to comprehension, through student textbooks, teacher manuals and training program.
