MINNESOTA SOCIAL HISTORY PROJECT
To improve the teaching of history on the secondary level and in higher education by incorporating both quantitative and traditional records and documents of large numbers of people from rural and urban Minnesota communities during the period 1860-1905. Planned activities are the development of American Studies undergraduate courses during the first year along with database on Minnesota communities, traditional reader in Minnesota social history, and teachers' manual with applications in research, data gathering, family history, women’s history, ethnicity, urbanization, and community history, and workshops for teachers on necessary techniques.
