J.S. Bach in the Baroque and the Enlightenment

A four-week summer institute in Germany for twenty-five school teachers on the life, music, and intellectual milieu of composer Johann Sebastian Bach.

Moravian College presents a 4-week institute for classroom teachers on J.S. Bach in the Age of the Baroque and the Enlightenment to be held in Germany. The Institute will demonstrate how to use Bach as a vehicle for teaching the social, cultural, intellectual and religious changes taking place in Euprope from the 17th to 18th centuries. By situating the institute in Germany, participants will be immersed in the very place where Bach lived, and have access to the finest cultural and scholarly resources on Bach.
