Imagination in American Literature

To study the role of Imagination In the shaping of American fiction. The language itself is the first shaping element, and the Vernacular the first of our imaginative acts. The concern of the study will he to reveal the role of Imagination in representative writers from Twain to Faulkner, including Stephen Crane, Gertrude Stein, Anderson, Hemingway, Fitzgerald.
