The Development of Mormonism, 1870-1970

To examine Morman development in Utah and Arizona over last century and show the mutual interaction of ecology and economics, and ritual and creed. The project will show the place of utopias in American development, the role of new religions within the Industrial Revolution, and the economic functions of the freedom of religion clause in the Constitution.
