To examine the past and present operation of the Ford Motor Company around the world to test such propositions as whether the spread of bureaucracy inevitably diminishes individual initiative and homogenizes social values, whether business strategies of multi-nationals necessarily generate such bureaucracies and produce executives whose primary loyalty is to the company, etc.
