British-Chesapeake Trade, 1660-1775

An economic study of the Chesapeake trade which will be a precise quantitative account of the growth of the trade, of tobacco shipments from the Chesapeake, of the relative importance of different areas of cultivation, and of different ports in Britain, the various re-export markets, prices, etc. Will also examine in depth the various institutional forms in the trade, credit conditions, the impact of weather, etc. and will tell much more about the capital structure of the trade than have previous studies.
