Organizational Dimensions of Modern American History

This study will address the questions of the distribution of power and wealth in our society, the effects organizations have on individuals, etc., through a series of essays that assess the influence of our new bureaucratic environment on a broad range of activities in 20th century America. The focus in each essay will be on 3 major questions: To what extent have new modes of organized behavior changed the way things are done? What are the implications of these changes for the individual? for the entire society? Together these essays will attempt to assess the total impact of organizational change on what David M. Potter has called our national character.
