Vision, Optics, and Experimental Traditions in the Renaissance
This project investigates competing narratives of light and vision in Europe in the period 1500-1700. Alongside the scholarly practices of mathematical optics, it considers the influence of magical experiment books and the effects of the early popularization of science.
