A book length sudy focusing on the antagonism and mutual suspicion between social experience and the imaginative life, centering on the classical period of modern literature between the two world wars. The book will provocatively raise the question of the paradoxes for the teacher who examines from within Culture Art that with gusto mocks and repudiates Culture iself.
