An Analysis of the Administrative Archives from Tell Harmal (Early 2nd Millenium BC)

To analyze the economic organization, and specifically the agricultural administration, of ancient Mesopotamia, by examining the administrative archives from Tell Harmal, a Mesopotamian town of the early 2nd millennium B.C. And, also, to test the implications of the conclusions drawn from the Harmal material against texts from other sites. It is clear that a more firmly based knowledge of the ancient Mesopotamian economy and the bases of political power would be of value both for presenting Mesopotamian civilization to students, and for comparisons with the situation in other areas and times.
