Problems and Opportunities in Literary Studies
Purpose of the seminar will be to offer several kinds of problems for consideration and to offer: them as opportunities for study. Questions of formal criticism in the reading of individual texts will provide a beginning; texts for analysis may be chosen from non-fiction, including rhetoric, history, philosophy and criticism as well as poetry, drama and fiction. Seminar will focus on 18th and 19th centuries. Last part of seminar will be discussion of the papers written by each Fellow in his independent study.
