Women in Myth and Reality

Focus of proposed study is to extend the understanding of women as they have been culturally defined and as they are represented in myth. C.G. Jung's theories of the collective unconscious and animal as they relate to anthropological assessments of culturally determined sex role, will be explored. Project will also examine the social roots of equality and inequality and the whys behind the roles men and women are taught to fulfill. Applicant is responsible for creating classes on women's issues at Montana State U. and this seminar will add immensely to the scope of her lectures, not only in Women's Studies, but in her other classes as well.
