Ethnic Autobiography: The Search for an Authentic Identity in Black, Chicano, and Indian Literature

Indian Literature To develop an intensive reading program in ethnic autobiography. To investigate some of the important autobiographical writings of the Indian and Chicano cultures. Study will search for an authentic identity in ethnic autobiography. The Black, Chicano and Indian autobiographer has seen himself as a member of either a displaced (Indian) or a replaced (Black and Chicano) culture dominated by an overwhelming white culture.
