The Joint Problems of Individual Identity and Social Community: A Point of Crisis and Resolution

and Resolution To examine the problems of self identity and social community. The individual’s self concept, or the lack of it, and the possible estrangement or alienation he feels toward himself and others, in part derives from conflicting views about human nature and society. This project will describe and establish some basic categories in terms of which one can assimilate those relevant and significant insights from many disciplines into a new, more fundamental and systematic understanding of the dimensions of human nature, society and the contingencies of the life process itself.
