To study performance practice discerned from the music of Stephen Heller and his contemporaries, the actual performances and pedagogy of these musicians, and the milieu of the era in question. Facets of performance, style and techniques to be considered include tempo, rhythmic treatment, articulation, ornamentation, pedaling, expressive range, tone production, touch, and fingering.
