I intend the write a monograph that looks at LE SPECTACLE DE LA NATURE, a small 8 volume best-selling encyclopedia that will consider its popular reception, its pedagogy, its advocacy for the worth of the artisans, its role in producing scientific and enlightenment thinking, and its influence on other enlightenment writers.
