Faculty Development Program, Faculty Enrichment Institute

A two-week intensive faculty development program for members of teh departments of Art, Education, English, Music and Social Science at Elizabeth City State University, eliminating the need for sending faculty away to summer and regular schools. Utilizing services of competent lectureres and consultants, through interdisciplinary departmental workshops, faculty is to be exposed to the most recent trends and devlopments in teaching the humanities. ABSTRACT: A two-week intensive faculty development program invovling departments of Art, Education, English, Music and Social Science at Elzabeth City State University. At least 25 faculty members representing various disciplines will participate, eliminating the need for sending faculty away to summer and regular schools. High school teachers in the area will be encouraged to attend. Utilizing the services of competent lecturers and consultants, through interdisciplinary seminars and individual departmental workshops, faculty is to be exposed to the most recent trends and developments in teaching the humanities. Less costly method for faculty development for University than support of individual study. Funds for Director's salary, honoraria for consultants and lecturers, travel, supplies, communication (telephones, ect.).
