Support of the Humanities Seminar for Medical Practitioners
To support a seminar with two objectives: 1) an exploration of selected ethical issues caused by the biological sciences and by the contemporary practice of medicine and 2) a clarification of the role and responsibilities of the medical professional in the context of the several areas in which he operates (e.g. the doctor-patient relationship, or the family as it faces medical crisis). The seminar will deal some of the contemporary questions posed by advances in biology and medicine (e.g. euthanasia, abortion, organ transplants). Seminar will be held at Williams College in Mass.
