Autonomy, Natural Rights, and Historical Change
To undertake a study that will elaborate on a new theory of rights— a theory which captures the central aspects of both liberal and Marxian conceptions of human nature. One of the roles of this theory is to articulate the central role concern for effective autonomy and equality plays within our conception of which particular rights are important to possess. This theory has a dynamic feature absent in traditional rights theories.
