Summer Seminar: "Style and the Structure of Discourse"
Seminar will compare the language teaching techniques of whole vs. part; discourse vs sentences. Will include survey of theoretical literature, analysis of discourses and their sentences, text cohesion and the teaching of style. Each participant will write a paper and may propose a program of investigation addressing questions in the study of style.
