Summer Seminar Entitled: "The Cold War Years: America from Truman to Nixon"
This seminar will examine recent American history from the end of World War II through Watergate. The focus will be on the Cold War, from the containment policy down to the end of U.S. involvement in Vietnam, and its relationship with domestic developments during this period, such as the loyalty issue, civil rights, and the growth and abuse of presidential power. The seminar is designed to help college teachers gain scholarly perspective on U.S. history since 1945.
