Alain Locke and Afro-American Culture

To examine the numerous cultural activities of Alain Leroy Locke, the mentor of the Harlem Renaissance. Locke will serve as the central figure of a general survey of Afro- American culture from 1924-1954 including literature, music, plastic art, theater and social history.
