Urban Society in 14th Centry Umbria: A Study in Medieval Regionalism

To test the validity of the concept of regionalism as a framework for the study of urban society, particularly in those periods of relatively stable population levels such as the late 14th and 15th centuries, in which the process of urbanization that is of urban growth, cannot serve as a model of urban development. If this approach is viable, it would offer a conceptual framework within which one could place the study and teaching of the Renaissance city and culture.
