Black Responses to Emancipation in Louisiana

To study the response of the Louisiana slaves to their emancipation amidst the turmoil of the Civil War. the project will focus on the manner in which blacks reacted to the demise of slavery, and the impact which their actions had on the development of race relations which emerged from the war years.
