Friedrich Melchior Grimm

To write a biography of Friedrich Melchior Grimm. Born in Germany, Grimm went to Paris in 1749 and quickly entered the most influential social and intellectual circles. Among his friends were, Rousseau, Diderot, Holbach, Raynal and other leading French philosophers. He was intimately involved in the development, spread and triumph of Enlightenment ideas. No biography of Grimm has been written since 1887, so this biography will shed new light on.the music, politics, drama and sociology of the age which is so much^father to our own.
