Italian Baroque Performance Practices for String Instruments as Found in Contemporary Instruction Manuals in Northern Italy

To examine the musical performance practices of stringed instruments in the Italian Baroque (1600-1750). P.I. will find and investigate contemporary instruction books which were used to teach string students the proper way of performing contemporary Baroque Italian music. This project will encourage a more historically accurate performance of this music.
