Hugo Grotius: The Miracle of Holland

To finish a book manuscript dealing with the influence which Hugo Grotius, a 16th century Dutch scholar and jurist, had upon the development of Western political and legal theory and also upon the development of practical international legalism. The value of the study lies in the fact that Grotius has been shallowly interpreted over the centuries by many commentators who have lacked sufficient acquaintance with the subtleties and the totality of his thought and who have failed to give him proper credit for his place in the history of Western thought.
