Identity, Race and the Blood Ideology of Japan

To complete a manuscript regarding the study of the role of ideas in shaping intergroup relations and institutions in Japan which maintain that the Japanese national identity has a tendency to emphasize racial, in contrast to ethnic characteristics and that the emphasis is being legitimized by a blood ideology. Present study will deal with legal implications of Japanese racial uniqueness and will attempt to determine the importance the Japanese place on "blood" in maintaining group boundaries.
