Study will be a careful analysis of the actual role played by a strategically placed joint subsidiary of several major oil companies (e.g. Exxon, Mobil, Texaco and Standard of California).Focus will be on the complex government-business interaction which occurred between 1933 and 1950 as the U.S. awoke to the strategic and commercial importance of Saudi Arabian oil, and moved to acquire a firm relationship with that country.
