A Study of Sir John Herschel's Role in the Early Development of Photography

To study Sir John Herschel (1792-1871) and his technical achievements in the earliest years of photography. PI intends to produce a biography of Herschel that will tie his technical impact (use of hypo as a fixer, invention of the blueprint process) with his actual role in the photographic community.
