Rubens and Humanism

To plan an exhibition, accompanying catalog and symposium on the subject of humanistic themes in the art of Rubens and his circle. Exhibition will explore Rubens' use of non-religious subject matter, especially that based on a humanistic study of classical history and literature. Audience will be a broad one, as the exhibition, symposium and catalog will be designed as an introduction to the topic for the general public while the symposium will be a forum for the airing of new ideas by both established and young scholars.
