Project grant funds for partial support of the Wichita Centennial Celebration's Institute of Culture Exhibit, presentation of contributions of the 20 ethnic groups who helped build Wichita during its first 100 years. ABSTRACT: Project grant funds for partial support of the Wichita Centennial Celebration's Institute of Culture Exhibit, presentation of contributions of the 20 ethnic groups who helped build Wichita during its first 100 years. Ethnic artifacts, pictures, documents and written materials displayed in contiguous exhibits identified by cultural groups to demonstrate their roles in the development of culture of Wichita, an appreciation of one another, and to develop pride of each group. Exhibit planned and administered by Ethno-Cultural Committee of local residents representing various ethnic groups. Exhibit housed in civic center, open to public during working hours. Special tours conducted for school and university students, civic clubs and organizations during day and evening and weekend tours for general public. Descriptive brochure and interpretive material to be produced for schools and public. After exhibit's termination, portions will be on permanent display at Wichita Historical Museum. Funds for professional display, personnel, security guards and printing costs for brochure.
