An Historical Study of the Economic Impact of Mine Closings on Company Towns

To prepare a book and pictorial exhibit recording the struggle of ten towns, founded by the James Coal Company in the 1890s; in the face of mine closings. The heritage of an economic and social era of the industrial history of eastern Appalachia will be preserved in old and new photographs.
