An Ethnomusical Study of Chicano Culture in Southern Texas

To prepare a multimedia presentation and 32-page narrative manuscript recording the music and life of the first nationally acclaimed Chicano band, the Beto Villa band of the 1930s and 1940s. Five students will interview the Villa family and band, examine their personal archives and photograph the original hand members.
