NEH on the Road: Our Lives, Our Stories

The project consists of public programs in support of "Our Lives, Our Stories," the "NEH On the Road" exhibit that will be open to the public at Elmhurst Historical Museum September 1 to October 26, 2013. The museum typically mounts 3-4 temporary exhibits each year and conducts public programs as opportunities for community engagement in themes related to the topics of the exhibits. Several public program options are being consisted, including a scholar from the OAH Distinguished Lectureship Program (possibly in partnership with Elmhurst College, a local liberal arts college); performances by actors/scholars portraying Rosie the Riveter and Eleanor Roosevelt; one or more films accompanied by scholar-led discussions; a walking-bus tour of historic sites associated with post-war suburbanization; a scholar-led panel discussion about themes of the post-WW II time period.
