General Preservation Assessment of Archives
A general preservation assessment of correspondence, manuscripts, photographs, films and audiotapes related to the career of director, actor, educator Lee Strasberg (1920-1982).
The Lee Strasberg Creative Center wishes to utilize consultants to provide a general preservation assessment of the institution’s collections, which include original correspondence, manuscripts, photographs, and audio/visual materials. One consultant will focus on the paper-based materials, while the other will survey the media materials. They will assess possible risks to the collections and recommend strategies for short-, medium-, and long-term preservation planning. Obtaining written reports will help organize our understanding of the institution’s preservation needs, prioritize necessary actions, and may serve as a basis for applications for funds to implement improvements.
