Preservation Assessment of the Archives in Brennan Library at Lasell College
An assessment of the preservation, security, facility, and management needs of a collection of correspondence, ledger books, scrapbooks, photographs, yearbooks, and ephemera related to the history of the college, founded in 1851.
Winslow Archives seeks funding to hire a consultant for a preservation survey. The survey will provide an assessment of the Archives’ environment, security and collections. The consultant will assess the new room built in 2005 and the existing room that houses the Archives for issues of environment, security and space use. The consultant will also assess the Archives collections which include: College publications, and records,course catalogs,yearbooks,student publications, a large photograph collection,personal student ephemera, scrapbooks, letters and newspaper clippings,etc. The consultant’s survey report will provide the guidance for the collections’ storage and handling and long range planning for the Archives.
