Conservation of the Newspaper Collections
The Society maintains one copy of rare and original North American newspapers created before 1877. Acid-free enclosures will be provided for 2,000 volumes in order to stabilize bindings and diminish future damage in handling. Additionally, 90 volumes will receive conservation treatment to address damaged bindings and repair torn pages.
