American School of Classical Studies at Athens (Princeton, NJ 08540-5232)
Jenifer Neils (Project Director: August 2017 to present)

Long-term Research Fellowships at The American School of Classical Studies at Athens

18 months of stipend support (2-4 fellowships) per year for three years and a contribution to defray costs associated with the selection of fellows.

The NEH Fellowship program at the American School of Classical Studies at Athens (ASCSA) gives U.S. scholars the opportunity to conduct research in Greece and utilize the excellent resources available on its campus. As the ASCSA’s most prestigious fellowship, earmarked exclusively for post-doctoral scholars to carry out research in the humanities, the NEH awards are a critical component of the School’s overall fellowship program. Each fellow contributes to the diverse academic community at the ASCSA, with research being conducted on a broad range of topics in the humanities. The research of our NEH fellows results in publications, lectures, and conferences that reach a wide audience of scholars, students, and the public in the U.S. and abroad. This proposal requests funding for 20 fellowship months per year for three years. The length of the proposed fellowships will range from 5 to 10 months depending on the selected applicants.
